Larger Trans Fluid Cooler- anyone?
a vette tranny is designed to work without a load other than the weight of the vehicle and its passengers .. im 'pretty sure' no one is towing with a vette ..
i dont know what the standard operating temp of a vette tranny is .. but 'assuming' its in the 200 f range, as suggested, then its clearly designed that way .. to compare a vette tranny operating at 200f under normal load, to a dodge rams tranny operating at around 145-150 under normal load, ( aka no load ) is apples and oranges ..
good job on the extra tranny cooler .. let us know please how it works out for you ..

I said it wasn't apples to apples. My point was the OP I think stated that his tranny temp was ok until what? 270. My own opinion it might be in the design but his Dodge truck trans was HOT. My vette the first time I watched it it did I thought something was stopped up. It was hot at 200 plus. Oh and if a aftermarket cooler is installed they usually bypass the radiator cooler entirely. My 1500 towing my fifth wheel ,no big hills hardly ever hit 180 last summer.
Not this time, I was really tired from the drive and didn't even stop for a "Mule Days" T-shirt. Drove to Big Pine and set camp up below Glacier Lodge. That is one of my favorite areas in the whole country. Where in New Mexico are you at now? I lived in Alamogordo for about 10 months some time ago.
