Could someone confirm that Dodge can update the software that allows activation of the fuel saver light on 2009 1500's?

Is that connected with RRT/TSB 08-007-10?

Thanks.

yes, the early 2009 build dates can be updated to show fuel saver light. they will not have to rip up your dash or anything rock.

Looking at my paperwork you have the right TSB. Mine is an early build 09 and didn't have the fuel saver light showng. After the flash, it is an option within the display.

Im having a hell of a time convincing anyone at my dealership that this ECO light TSB can be done to my truck. Ive told them that many people with '09's built in late 2008 are having it done, but all they say is that the computer shows that the TSB isnt listed...and therefore isnt applicable.

How do I get these people to do this?

Update: I was given a phone number to a customer service arm of Chrysler, called "Ram". I spoke to someone there and explained the issue with the ECO light TSB. He basically had no answer for me either, and simply went by the VIN. It appears that the ability to get this done is solely based on the whim of the dealership. Theyll either do it, perhaps without even knowing they are doing it, or they wont.

It appears Im destined to never have this light operational...

Chezz! The dealer tech needs to hook your truck up to the DRB. It will check for applicable updates. If your vehicle can't take the update due to it not being applicable to your vehicle and it can't be downloaded it won't and will say so. A tech can't force it to take a update if it won't go into that brain box. If It is applicable it will say so and you can proceed with down load. Won't take 10 minutes to know if its applicable to your truck or not. All this talk and vin number crap a tech with you standing there can show you if it will take that download or not in a few minutes. Talk to the service manager of a dealer, explain your situation and say your from Missouri and show me please.

Final update: I picked up the truck yesterday and as expected, they simply wouldnt do anything about the ECO light TSB. I gave up...did a walk around, and took off. A block down the road I look down at the EVIC and voila...there it is...."Fuel Saver" right next to the tripmeter display. LOL!

Somehow they are doing the TSB without even knowing it...all the while claiming it cant be done to my truck...got me a good laugh. Ive even got the option in the EVIC to turn it off. My paperwork even says the instrument cluster update is not available...too funny.

Im going to call the Service Advisor back and tell him that they've probably been doing this all along...

They did the latest and greatest flash update which if capable would have turned it on. They kept thinking it was something different I guess.

Dash,

If you get time can you PM me your VIN and the name of the dealership you took your vehicle to? I would like to forward this information to our communications dept. Maybe they can clarify on the TSB. Sorry you had so much trouble..

They may be confused between the "fuel saver" vs. "eco" light/indicator. The 2010/11? displays indicate a lot more than the early build 09's.
