Default Curious little question...

This just struck me the other day,

Has anyone made it so the 110V inverter will stay on even when the truck is off?
I had a 400W wired one in my old truck and it was nice to be able to plug a phone charger in and just let it sit?

Id pull it all apart to see how its wired, but thought I would check here to see if anyone has done it before I void the warranty!

Id be curious if it got is 12V from the ignition because it goes out when the ignition is off, OR if it just runs off a 12V trigger....

Does anyone know?

I have a PDRC (Permanent display, removable computer) computer system setup in my truck with a Toughbook that is under my seat. I have it wired to the always on cig lighter (the right one) and haven't had any problems with it. I even left the whole thing on overnight once and my battery STILL had enough power to start my truck (barely did it, but did it none-the-less)

The stock battery in my 1500 is simply UNBELIVABLE! Just goes and goes and goes! I would say it would be fine and easy to wire a 400 watt inverter to the always on DC port. I use all DC adapters from LIND, but if I wasn't in the trade I'd just have a 400Watt always on.

Thanks

Oh for sure...im tempted do it again, but just wondering if it was possible with the factory setup, I usually just use it to charge my phone so I dont really need 400W...BUT it is nice to have I guess
