I know when its a blizzard here, everyone HATES HIDs, anything over 6000K. It just lights those flakes right up and you seem to see shorter ahead of you then when you had stock bulbs! That is why on my 07 I had it so that in those cases I was just running off my fogs, 4300K, It would cut through the snow and fog like crazy!

Thats what I figured....they just pull out. Sometimes they are hard to do, but they just POP and there you have it. If you are careful you might be able to put a screwdriver underneath and pry it...but all I do is just grab the rad cover and pull where each tab is....

I have seen some of the same type of tabs, that you unscrew the top part and it releases pressure on the lower part and they just pull out....unfortunately this are not them!

Just a note of caution about HIDs. I can't speak for elsewhere but I know that unless the vehicle comes from the factory with them they are illegal here in BC. Definately worth checking with your local law enforcement if you don't like getting tickets.

I heard a different story from my Brother who is an RCMP officer in BC.

I have also driven in BC, passing by RCMP officers. I also know of people who moved out there with HIDs, not for long with no problems either (no more then a year) Now I still don't know how the rules are implemented throughout each province as everyone says a different thing. BUT what I am told is because the vehicle is registered in Alberta it still follows Alberta rules. The only thing that they can do is if something is mandatory illegal, take radar detectors for example. But as far as emission rules and whatnot, I do believe that Alberta registered vehicles still abide by Alberta regulations. I don't know if HIDs fall under that category of being illegal to everyone in the province like radar detectors, IF in fact they are illegal. What I do know is I have not been pulled over, nor has some of my other buddies...

I will say tho, that at least here in Alberta they don't give many people a hard time. For those guys that do, they are either running on brights or have them misaligned. In which case they are issued a citation to get that fixed, as it is illegal to run with your brights on when within a certain distance of another vehicle. Also one thing I know too is for all you guys that have hellas on the front of your truck, it is illegal to have them mounted without covers on them when driving. It could be the same type of thing in BC
