Fox Box for 4th gen... Have questions...
Going in a 2010 Quad Cab... Have the 2 - 12" Fox box coming. It has the option of running ported or sealed. I'm going to be using the stock head unit for now, may upgrade later... Amp is a Rockford P8004...
My question is which subs should I get? Kinda torn between the 12w6v2's and the Kicker CVX 12. I've been looking at specs for both, and I want whatever I get to match up to my amp as best as possible. I don't think I'm going to amp the mids / hi's as I never have in the past.
I care mainly about sound quality. I know the W6's have better SQ, but damn they are expensive! $600+ for a pair and the Kickers are half that.
Any suggestions?

Im finding it very hard to believe that a dub 6 will fit in there...Even the kicker...I know its what fox recommends, but when I tried putting dub 6s in my 07, there was not enough room without raising the seats. Not to mention the actual box dimensions to put 2 subs in that kind of an enclosure were going to be way to small for the sub. This was drawn up by a professional sound installer. NOW i do realize that sometimes you can get away with a lot, but I ended up putting 2 pioneer ib-flats in.
I listen to alternative rock mostly not a lot of pop/rap. I will say that I will not go with anything but them IF i were to put subs in another ram. Those subs beat HARD, and FAST! just like alternative rock sounds. Never missed a beat! I did listen to pop on occasion, and these subs were nothing to be ashamed of in that area either. HOWEVER not as good as a deep range sub. But I would beat the snot out off all the dub 6s on alternative.
Now if you listen to that type of music I would look into getting something like those. They are a shallow mount sub, most of the major companies are getting into that just for the "no room" reason. They would fit in those boxes perfect, no need to worry about raising seats, or a box that is too small. You might have to just doublecheck that the box is not going to be too big, but I think when we were calculating on the ib-flats, we could go almost double the space that we had to deal with.
Just my opinion cause I know how a professional installer builds a custom box, with proper dimensions and sub ports. Yes all subs are different. Just my opinion...

oh and as far as amps go, if you have a little extra cash don't hesitate to get an amp thats a little over the necessary power. It is better to have an amp that you can turn down then to turn an amp up to drive the subs.
I currently own a Fox Box for my 2010 Crew Cab. I have owned it for about 6 months now, I have owned 3 different boxes for this truck, and the Fox Box is by far the best box. As far as the sub goes, That is a lot of personal preference, I have owned a lot of different subs the Kicker CVX's, MTXs, Rockford Fosgates, JBL, You name it. I Currently Own Alpine Type R 10". I like the 10" because I listen to a lot of Rock, but like the occasional Hip-Hop/Rap. I choose the Ported because to me it was a compromise to get the best of both worlds. The Alpine Type R's have a really strong Surround along with a Kevlar Cone which creates a really nice punch. The only downside is they require quite the amp. The Port in the box also ads a nice difference. So the Combination of a good strong punching sub, with the perfect size port in the box actually makes it quite the universal box. Plus the Box comes with seat Spacers that work like a charm, its a little puzzle putting them on which is kind of fun... lol. I will never own another box in a truck.
Also another Alpine Fun Fact for ya.... The Current db world record is held by a guy who only used 10" Alpine Type X sub woofers.
