Default K2Motor vs. Anzo HALO projectors

ok so i am in a bit of trouble now. i want to order the halo projector headlights for my truck and its only one bulb. i am wondering if they have the high and low projector? i dono if u will understand me coz no one does but the projector itself gives the high and low beam by moving, not a high and low bulb. i called k2motor and the guy says they dont recommend HID and the hi/Lo is controlled by the bulb and not projector, then the dude at anzo says its a hi/lo projector but i dono y i felt he wasnt sure.

anyone over here have any idea about what i am talking about? plz help
thanx

You are talking about bihalogen projectors, which are not particularly common. Bixenon is slightly more common. I do not know if either of these products use this technology.

your talking about the single and quad housings. aka 1 bulb for both hi and low or 2 seperate bulbs one for hi and one for low. they make em. I dont think any projector company "recommends" HIDs be put in their projectors due to HIDs heat up and could melt housings.

problem is HIDS are really designed to be run with the bulb cover (whatever you call it!) it just makes it so the whole HID bulb is not focusing out, blinding people. Thats why if you look at the quad ram headlight you will notice the high beam does not have that cover but the low beam does.

Thats where the projectors see the problem, because those covers are not there you could be blinding people if those are not set right. YES the projector cuts off the top portion of the bulb but thats where you have your problem. The "eyelid" that the projectors are built with are not rated for those temps like the bulb covers are. HIDs burn much brighter and much hotter, so its going to start to melt that eyelid. Defeating the purpose of projectors. So if you like HIDs, projectors are a no go... Thats why its soo hard to find them with HIDS, some build them, but prices go up.

When your doing you custom headlights, IMO go with 1 bulb for low and 1 high. Which is probably what you are doing, but just making sure. If you can, build them with movable housings for the low and high. That way you can adjust the lows to keep them low and to the side and the highs strait out. Dodge has it now that its all one housing so you want the lows moved up, the highs are going to move too. So you have to find an average point.

Well here wat I am going to do. I am going to install a bi-xenon projector in the low beam only. So its a low beam and when I use the high beam the projector moves up giving extra light with the high beam. It is supposed to be a HD projector and be able to handle the heat from the lamp.

I think your wrong on this. Number 1 what bulb cover are you talking about? That lil cLear plastic cover that protects the bulb in the box? If you ask me projectors are made for hids not the other way around. Why do you think every single projector lights on new vehicles nowadays have hids. Look at the new grand cheerokee, all the fancy cars with projectors all have hids. They are made for that and shouldn't melt anything that's bogus. If you aim them right projectors are perfect not to blind oncoming traffic with hids. Unlike people who put hid's in stock regular reflector housings. If you want to put halogen in projectors have fun with your lil candles. I know someone retrofits projectors in the stock ram housing. Look it up online there's a website with all kinds of custumized ways to do it. It was on this forum at some point.

That's just my 2 cent
