Default 2011 Outdoorsman

Getting a new Outdoorsman, 5.7 with 3.92 gear. Question is, for mpg would I be better off with the 17" stock rim and tire or the 20" stock rim and tire. The height is supposed to be the same, just a difference in the sidewall height.

Your best bet would be the 17" rim. It's a light wheel and tires are much cheaper. Also any offroad vehicle benefits from having smaller wheels

those 20" wheels are for looks and that is it. a 17" wheel has many advantages when it comes to actually driving your truck off the highway. Also, i would have to believe that 17" wheels with stock tires is lighter than the 20" wheels and stock tires. The lighter combo should yield better gas mileage.
