Leveling kit and bigger tires
Hi Everybody,
I am pretty sure this topic has been discussed before, but please bear with me as I am new to this. It's time to get new "shoes" I am contemplating with the idea of installing a levelling kit on my 2009 RAM 1500 4x4 crew cab to allow for larger, beefier tires and I would like to ask for some advice from those who already walked that path. Currently I have the stock 275/60/20 but I am thinking at going with 17" or 18" wheels.
Talked to different people, some say levelling kit is a bad idea, some say that even with levelling kit max tire diameter you can install is 33", while others claim that you can do 35" without any rubbing issues.
Can anybody share their experience with levelling kits and tire sizes? Also, since I need to buy new wheels as well, what is the proper offset to avoid rubbing on the control arm or fender / bumper?
Thanks
