2009 1500 QC Hemi. Low speed "clunk" front end...
I've got about 40,000 miles on my 2009 1500 QC. I had the tie rod recall done 6 weeks ago and I'm noticing a slight clunk at low speed over bumps especially when turning...as in when I turn into my driveway and go over the small curb I notice a clunk. I bought the truck in August this year and hadn't driven it much before I had the recall done--I did notice a slight clunk at times prior to taking it in. I just figured the recall would eliminate it. If anything, the clunk is more noticeable after the recall. So I'm thinking either the tech did a poor job with the tie rods or there is another loose or worn suspension component. Never hear the clunk at higher speeds. It's not a loud clunk...my wife drives with me a lot and also drives the truck and she's never mentioned it. Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
The new tie-rods may have upset something worse in the front suspension.
Have the steering rack checked where the steering wheel shaft goes into the rack assembly.
Next check to see if previous worn tie-rods wore out the rack bushings on each side.
Check to make sure that the main rack bolts arent coming loose.
Also, have BOTH upper AND lower ball-joints checked for play. Shouldnt be any play.
Some of these 4th gen trucks DO have a clunk going on with the front coil springs, but its NOT an issue.
Sometimes the coil springs dont sit in the spring pockets very well and will pop from time to time, not a big deal.
But all seriousness aside, get this checked out...!!! Could be something very bad...!!! Better safe than sorry...!!!
Did the tech re-torque the wheels back on at 135ft-lbs each..?

Would a problem with this feel more like the steering wheel sticking for a moment as you turn at low speed? I get that at very slow speeds when turning (like coming out of a parking space).
