Default Joe Gibbs Racing - Hemi Oil!

Got this from a rep at Joe Gibbs Racing.. I will be running it!

We have a new oil coming out in January for the Hemi engines. It is called DT40. It meets the viscosity requirements of the Hemi engine - 5W-40. It also has a higher zinc content for greater engine protection under higher loads.

Thanks,

Snake oil...! I`m NOT about to make joe gibb`s any richer either.
And 5w40 is fine as long as you dont have the MDS in your hemi.

Sounds like Shell Rotella T Synthetic, to me. A very good oil, in it's own right. I use it in motorcycles, lawnmowers, snowblowers, some cars, and some trucks if they find 40Wt acceptable. A true, heavy duty oil, long change capable, and a VERY GOOD oil. and the 5W makes it very good for cold weather starting, too.

Always best to stick to the mfrs recommendation - especially if it is critical for MDS.

haha...but yes 5w-20, the manual does state that if you use any other type it will cause the MDS to act improperly.

I don't use my MDS! DISABLED! But I am actually going to enable it again

Is this the same Joe Gibbs Racing that had 14 engine failures in NASCAR racing this year? I can't wait to put something they developed into my engine with a track record like that.

Either the 5W-40 is a typo error,or Joe hasn't done his research!
