Default How to run wire from bed to cab ?

I have a 2010 RAM Big Horn. How do I run a wire from the bed to the cab to install a switch for a back up camera? Are there any factory installed wiring pathways?

Check out my thread I posted awhile back....I wired in some LED lights and ran a switch into the cab of my truck. You'll see in the firewall the nipple I ran the wires through. Cut the tip off, it's meant for wire runs.

Do you have a stick or automatic? If you have a automatic right next to steering column there is a black plastic piece that is a cover for the clutch (if it was a stick) works great and pretty easy to get to. I ran from there to the back bumper and it was cake took me like 20 mins and most of that was spent looking for the zip ties LOL.

lets us know how the switch works, was thinking about adding an additonal hot to my OEM to turn it on when I wanted to to bypass the reverse on only feature.

Default Thanks will have a look

Yeah, I installed a Peak Electronics back-up cam connected to a 12V, 25ah AGM battery to power the cam. That way it's on all the time instead of just in reverse. The wire will go to the radio transmitter so I can turn it off, as to not drain the battery!

Look for instructions on installing a power tailgate lock module. You should be able to find plenty of instructions and tips on running wires from the cab or engine compartment from those. Check out the Mopar kit, 3rd party packages, and some posts on this forum about it. Alternatively, check out instructions for the Mopar bed lighting kit. I know that kit requires wires run from inside the cab.

Hey Rob, where have you been, been awhile since I've see yah post on here. Like you said, I used that Mopar bed light kit to get some ideas on how to route my wiring.

Been pretty busy with life the last couple months so I haven't spent much time on the forum. I think things may be evening out finally though. :-)

For the OP, did you get your wiring run successfully?

Rob
