Never had an issue w/ that...I do notice if I have a cd in the disc drive n unlock the truck that I have that "whirring sound" until I start the truck. I'd just call the dealer and let them handle it since it should be under warranty I see it's a 2011. Maybe try pulling the fuse for the radio at night and see if it's dead in the AM, that can help pin-point it out..

Default EVIC on with ignition off?

I know this is an old post, but I have a 2011 crew cab sport. Went through 2 batteries in a year. Every once in a while if the truck sits for a few days (which is common since I'm usually in my work van 90 % of the time), the battery goes stone dead. I started to try and pay attention every time I shut off the truck. What i've noticed is a few times, when I turn off the ignition, 2 lines on the EVIC stay on. Even after I lock it. I have to re start the struck, let it reboot, and then shut it off again. At that point every thing is off. Any ideas or has anyone run into this?

this is what stays on. I'm sure after 3-5 days, that's a dead battery

Welcome to the forum, Anthony!

I tried looking for a TSB regarding this, but I was unable to find one. It certainly does sound like the EVIC staying on could be leading to your dead batteries though. I would recommend having a dealership check this out to see what may be causing it to stay on.

I am guessing but I would think it would be the PCM not totally shutting down.

Probably more than your display is still on to kill the battery.

Some things in the truck need to be on all the time such as keyless entry, auto start and the volatile memory storage needs power. But this is a very low current draw.

You would need to disconnect one terminal from the battery and put a digital meter in line and see what type of current draw you get.

A high resistance short and problem PCM's are the main culprits.
