I used to put NuFinish on my '06 with the chrome clad wheels. Keeps the brake dust from building up so fast. Clean them with steel wool and soap when you wash it (the fine stuff, not like you'd use washing dishes) and apply the wax. You can get a bag of a dozen pieces of steel wool at harbor frieght for about $3. No, it won't hurt the wheel.
Use a good sealant, ie; Zanio or Wolfgang. Another option would be using Collinite 845. Sealants last alot longer than typical waxes and will protect better--IMHO

Try Eagle One NEVR-DULL wadding polish. It comes in a can full of wadding, pull off a piece, rub, then buff with a soft cloth. It works great on about anything except lacquered surfaces.
Ive used cheap old turtle wax chrome polish on my 2003 ram clad wheels for 9 years still look brand new with no swirl or scratch marks using it now on my 2011 ram. Do it once a month on your wheels and exhaust tips cost around 3 to 4 bucks
