Dealer Visit- Cab Mounts
So I had this HIGH pitch squeaking noise coming from my truck (finally got time to bring her in). If all the windows were up you couldn't hear it, if I had my rear slider window open I was able to hear it (I ruled out that it wasn't my tool box). Now if I open my driver or passenger window it is starting to become more noticeable and starting to become more prevalent over the past week or so. They brought it into the shop and said my body mounts are starting to wear out, so they ordered 4 :Isolator, Body Hold down p/n: 55398277AC(CAB Mounts). So hopefully this fixes this squeak, anyone else ever had this issue...? My truck only has 26k on it, just seems rare for them to go this soon...
Also I just switched dealers and I came to this dealer 2days ago to have someone ride w/ me so they could hear the noise. Brought it in today to have the tech look at it, and they ordered the parts. So hopefully I can squeeze in next week or the week after at some point! Dealing w/ the service department here has been the best experience I've dealt with in a longtime! Nice to actually talk to someone and WORK w/ you instead of treating you like your a deadbeat!

Hey bud, honestly I think this may be an isolated issue (if it was more of an issue I think others would've seen it already). This is just a thought...I bought my 09 RAM is May of 2011 and it only had 7,800 miles on it. So clearly this truck was rarely driven before I owned it. So possibly that they started to dry rott and crack from sitting so much (rare possibility but there..) and now the truck less than a year later has just over 26k on the truck...so thinking w/ all the sitting it could cause pre-pre-mature failure? lol What do you think?
Plus the pot holes in NJ that are bigger than some toyota prius's doesn't help lol.

Yea I know about the dealers...but figured I'd give them a shot..so hopefully this fixes it. Also when the truck is sitting still if I shake it side to side you can hear the cricks and squeaks...
I didn't think they'd deteriorate this quickly either but god you never know in todays world... bad install from the factory?!? who knows...I'll keep y'all posted on what happens from the dealer.
As for your comment, fill the potholes w/ the prius's...

I had the same issue with my truck and I had it at the dealer several times trying to get them to fix it. Nothing they did fixed it. Finally I couldnt take it anymore and I was in my drive way rocking the truck as hard as I could trying to find it. Ended up it was my latch on my RAM boxes squeaking! Put a little grease on them and no more squeak. Kind of made me feel a little stupid but I was at the point of getting rid of the truck before I found the noise.
I didnt notice if your truck had ram boxes on it or not but I thought maybe this would help if you do. Take care.

stlram, my truck doesn't have the RAM box...I've removed my tri-ball hitch, ruled out the tool box, I have lubed up the tailgate and it's still there. I am going to let the dealer mess w/ it when I get the time off work. It's getting to the point of that I don't even want to drive my truck.. bc I like cracking the windows when it's nice out. Hopefully I can make it to the dealer in the next few weeks, as they already ordered the body mounts hopefully thats all it is... highly doubt full.

MIKE,
have you found anything out about the squeak yet...???? Did you try spraying the cab mounts with some kind of lubricant..?
Years ago, i use to spray my cab mounts with motorcycle chainlube.
Champion makes an excellent waxed base teflon MC chain lube, (sprays on in liquid form, then dries into a wax film, water and salt wont touch it..!) most walmart stores carry it in the motorcycle section. I use this chain lube on my door hindges and cam stoppers, works friggin awesome dude. I spray the doors once a year, never hear them squeak for a year or more. I also spray my locks and tail gate with this stuff too. One more thing i might add bro, check the balljoints, dodge`s are known to have squeaky joints. (look for torn boots) Just thought i`d throw that out there at ya budd. Didnt you change out the shocks a while back...??? Might have a nut/bolt come loose...????? Check the coil spring pockets too. Might be worth a shot to lube them as well.
Later my good friend..!

Larry, i haven't yet got them checked out. I am pretty busy these next couple of weeks with work, sure as hell sucks. But they placed the mounts on order, so as soon as I have a free day I'm bringing it in there again to get them replaced. Also i posted sone you tube videos in this thread titled "magnaflow cat back exhaust (videos) " under the first video between 35-40 seconds you can hear the high pitched squeak as i do a pass by the camera. Take a peek! I did replace the struts up front to the Bilstein 5100's, and i checked all the nuts n bolts all still snug.
You think that possibly the coil spring may have shifted in the pocket causing it to squeek? I'll keep ypu posted.. Hopefully next week!
