Default Evic alternative

posted this on some other forums as well so multi-members may be having flashbacks.

I know in the boating world you can tie your sonar/gps display into the engine diagnostics and have the gauges display on screen while you are running WOT. Is there something similar for the Ram trucks to have the evic information displayed on the MyGig or aftermarket head unit? I have an express without the evic but it also seems like it may be more useful on a touch screen interface even for those equipped with the evic. Really the only thing I am after is transmission temperature for when I am towing so if there is something just for that it would be cool or maybe I am overlooking the way to see it on my little dislpay.

Dunno... just some suggestions for you....
Maybe get yourself one of those "A" piller pod mounted trans temp gauges..?
(dosen`t really need to be a POD, as it can be mounted anywhere you chose)
At least at a glance, you`d see it very easy and it would be in a "realtime" reading on the fly.
Check out JEGS dot com, they have some really nice AUTOMETER trans temp gauges.
This would be the cheapest route to go anyway.

I used Scan Gauge II on my 04 F150 mounted on steering column before the Edge tuner pod was available, then just used the pod for added gauges with an SCT custom tune since the pod display allowed multiple gauge views at a time.
