2nd to 4th gen leap: Have they fixed the AC vents?:)
Hey guys,
Thinking about taking the plunge on a new 4th gen now that the 2nd gen is 12 years old....
One of the most glaring problems I've had with the 2nd gen involves leaves piling up on the windshield/hood/wiper area and working it's way down into the pass (and drivers )fender well, which feeds directly into the HAVC ductwork with no filter....
End result being that leaves and acorns clog the fan (and even break off vanes).
Sure, I could buy it a building, but really - that's kind of a flaw.
Looked at the new hood/fender area, and it looks like over time the 4th could have the same problem - IF the fender well still feeds directly into the AC ductwork..
Anyone dug into this area yet to see if this has been resolved on the 3rd or 4th?
(and for those keeping track - 2wd long crew SLT, possibly in Hills Green if I, or the dealer, can track down a real picture to see what it really looks like)
thanks!

I guess I should clarify: The question is probably more for you guys who live and park under heavy tree cover.
The 2nd gen definitely packs leaves into the void between the fender and A pillar, and the hvac fan sucks them in....
guess I'll have to find out the hard way.

One thing i dont like about dodge trucks, you still loose heat when accellerating, comes back as soon as you lift off the gas pedal. When you`re just crusing, its fair to ok, but not great, i`ve certainly had better heater units than dodge has. Sometimes you`ll also notice a cold draft once in awhile too, seems to come from the middle dash area. I still havent figured out why or where its coming from. It dosent do it all the time, so its hard to pin it down.
