How Do I ?
How do I remove these black plastic/vinyl type guards on each door. There was a step by step instruction thread some time ago and I cannot find it.
The previous instructions indicated the small black screw on the inside had to be removed. I see no reason to remove it when removing these peieces?
I hope someone can help me locate the old thread or just tell me how all over again. Thanks John

Remove the screws bc the tape wraps around the inside edge and you need to peel it. Also depending on where you live you may want use a heat gun and have plenty of goo-gone or goof-off.
Also I haven't seen anyone on here w/ a blue truck peeled off yet.... But I've seen a few trucks in town all different colors and all look really good! I peeled mine off and love it.

Thanks Mike. I am going to do it. Got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Yes, I now understand why the screw must be removed. The OP mentioned he dropped it and somewone else mentioned they stripped theirs. I want no problem with moulding as it will never be the same if I should mess it up.
I bought a small container of "Goof Off" I think. Yellow can. Its in the basement. I hope its okay for the paint? And I must assume final waxing the area is also required?

Goof Off will be fine to use, just once you get all the sticky crap off, wash the truck fully or the area w/ some warm soapy water and throw a nice coat of wax on there and you'll be set! Post pics when your done Also have a razor to get in near the edges, sometimes it'll get stuck and use the razor to cut it. You'll see what I'm talking about when you start doing it.
When tightening back just get it snug and call it good, no need to wrench down on it, I wouldnt be worried about stripping it. It's not holding your wheels in place lol.

Decided to do it today. I am working on the front passenger side. It is very difficult to remove. Especially around the edge. Had to take a break as I am frustrated. I had hoped it would be easier. Almost wish I did not start today. Its already 4:30.
So you guys are cutting what is behind the lip? That is where I am having trouble. In back where I cannot see. It is so tight. I moved the truck into the sun. This should really be fun now. Hot and aggravated.
