If you haven't done so you need to ask for the regional complaint rep. 8 days to find a missing cyl is way too long.

Ask for a new truck if they can't fix it.

Ditto on the recommendation to use only Chevron & Shell gasoline. Stay completely away from the independents (Walmart/Sams, grocery store fuel, local off-brands, etc.) unless you're driving something you don't care about, i.e., like the way a farmer would treat a rented mule.

I'm somewhat surprised the compression check came back clear, assuming they really did run one. There's obviously something wrong with your #2 cylinder and since they've done everything possible on the outside, to me it points to something on the inside. Obvious first things first, such as plugs & injectors.

Dodge (MoPar) makes some really good de-carbonizer, tho I forget the name of it. If they really ran it through this ordeal twice then I think we're nearing the point where a teardown is in order.

As another poster suggested, I too think it might be time to find a different dealership. The internal combustion engine is not rocket science and I think someone at your present dealership has been giving you a snow job, confirmed by the conflicting versions of their story.

I'd say they didn't touch your truck and just did a fuel injector service. It's alot of work to move an injector from one cylinder to the next! They could have possibly moved a coil pack from one to the next though???
You could have a further issue such as a head gasket ptoblem although I don't think this is the case. Hemi's ar pretty good in that dept.

They need to do a compression check and a leakdown test. This will tell them if the valves are operating properly and if there's an issues with broken ringlands on the piston(common problem when using 87oct) 87oct that has 10% ethanol can be very detrimental if it's been sitting in a gas stations tak for longer than 3weeks. It'll suck up any water molecules and ruin the octane rating of the gas. So, bad gas could be the cause...

My extended warranty provides me a rental if my vehicle will be overnight. I get a Pickup or a Durango , I can also swap down to a smaller car but I don't get any money or anything .

At least they should pull the plugs, I am not sure but I didn't read that they did this??? I read it recommended. Just pull the #2 plugs, and if they look ****ty, pull a couple more and compare. easy as thing to do. What about the ECM or some other or the million modules. That is something that I am worried about once the warranty expires at 6 years. I will probably trade it before then. With a year of warranty left.
I sure hope they find out your issue and you get your truck back.Could it be a valve spring, did they not have issues with them years ago. Maybe someone cleaning their work station for the first time in 5 years found one on the floor and decided to use it...yes it happens anyway Good Luck

Try changing the spark plugs only on #2 and see what happends. Especially since you took it to the dealer and they did all the testing. At 30K miles you have to change the spark plugs anyway.

They said they changed the plugs already and this didn't resolve the issue. The service manager wanted the truck over the weekend so I'm playing nice for now, that's going to come to an end here pretty soon if they don't get off their *** and get it fixed.

I took it to the largest dealer in my area, they have a good reputation but my opitions are limited in South Jersey, other dealers are 25-50 miles away.

Over 90% of the time with a low mileage vehicle it's in the coil or plug. Could be as simple as a nicked wire. Standard OP is to swap the plug with one on another cylinder, then the coil, then the injector and see which move makes the problem follow it to the other cylinder. If that doesn't solve it then it's usually time to check compression.

Biggest b*tch I ever had hunting down a misfire was on a friends Mustang, head gasket was installed with a pinch in it from the factory. It decided to take 38k miles to fail (with a 36k warranty), but the pinch finally caused the gasket to fail and it had a small coolant leak into the adjoining cylinder, just enough to cause an occasional misfire...

Which dealership? I am from Marlton though I am stationed in VA Beach. I have used Cherry Hill Dodge and they seemed pretty good. Though, a tech told me my back brakes were at 10% and they were really around 50-60%...I went in because my Durango was shaking. I asked to have the wheels balanced and front end aligned. It took 1.5 hours and is good to go now.

Like I said make sure its really number two before you start swapping things if you are getting a P0302 code and thats why you figure its #2.
