Amen. I had a 3.7L in my 06 Dakota and it was underpowered in that truck. Please don't waste your money on a 3.7L.

If you don't have a "Fuel Saver" light...take it to your Dodge dealer and have them Flash/Update your software on your truck. My 09 didn't have a light either. They flashed my computer and now I have a light and it works like a charm....

If you buy an early '09 it will not have any indication light that the MDS is on or working. It is very hard to even tell if I have MDS other than on the highway I get about 19mpg...Around town I can't tell if it even works.

You can do what you want, BUT, if it were me, i`d wait on that 13 V6.
Let them get the bugs worked out of the 3.7 and the 8 speed transmission first.

One thing i hate about the 8 speed, it hunts for gears all the time, its never happy...!!!!
It isnt going to get that 25mpg either, unless you plan on coasting alot.
Go drive a few of them before you give up what you`ve already got.

Just my opinion on the V6 & 8 speed trucks... they`re just not for me.
And i hope you dont expect to haul or tow anything with any weight to it, you`ll be disappointed real quick.
