Default I just joined the TPMS fail group.

Been driving the truck this week and the tire warning light would come on then go out as I drove. Been like that all week. came out this morning and the front right side was pretty low. Pumped it up and drove to work. Driving home, the light came back on. Washed the truck and went to put more air in and I could hear it hissing. Coming from the valve stem nut where it contacts the rim.....Great! Off to Dodge to get it fixed now. I am going in for heart surgery next week and did not need my truck going flat and sitting like that for 6 weeks......Ugh!
Check your TPMS stems for corrosion.

Anytime a metal part is used on a rim with these valve stems today, it is always good to have a spray bottle with some soapy water kickin around to check them occasionally. May just catch a really small leak in time and get it fixed before it turns into a nightmare... especially at a time like this with you ramulak, being that you`re going into the hospital and will be moving slowly for awhile. Best of luck on the surgery my good friend, my thoughts are with you, hope you`re back up an runnin very soon budd.

Wow! I just had the first one fail on my '02 Grand Cherokee - that's after like 11 years and 104,000 miles and it don't leak, just doesn't give a reading anymore.

I've never had a leak on a tire from one - yet anyway...

I ended up getting the rebuild kit for about $3 at autozone and took it up to discount tire where I bought the last set of tires for the truck and they installed it, remounted and balanced the tire for free.

They should have done that when they replaced the tires - didn't they? There is a kit that is supposed to be replaced every time the TPMS is removed from the rim - new nut and o-ring.

No. I got some Michelin LTX M/S2 tires put on.....at Sears.

So I highly doubt they installed a new gasket kit at all. I will pick up a kit or two and bring it back to Sears and have them install it.
I did get the hazard plan when I bought them, which comes with free balancing/rotation etc. I need to rotate the tires now that winter is over anyways.

I'll have to check the bill to see if there was any kit to be installed.
