thanks i saw the tune from superchips for the tire or gear change. i would now just call superchips and see if there tune will support my year model. it has it advertised that it will but they dont have a tune to do any performance mods yet. that leaves me wondering.
Good luck with the tuner...guys have been waiting for a 2011 tune since the truck was released...some tuner companies said late winter, now they changed to spring...some say fall, I have no idea whats going on with them! But I have a bullydog I cant use for this reason....
They have them out for 09 and '10 maybe even '11 but I havn't seen any for '12 yet, you'd think they would all be pretty similar but i'd want a sure bet before voiding my warranty. The current Superchips have an 87, 89 and i think 91 octane tunes. If you don't care about adding a tune, your dealer can reprogram the ECU for tire and gear swaps.

09s and 10s yes. No one has a custom tune for the 2011 and up. Unless I have not been informed yet, but I would be one of those to know. As I have been in direct contact with superchip, and on the beta list for bullydog...
The dealer I am sure will cost you an arm and a leg tho...:S
Yeah i'm not sure what the dealer would charge but I do know they charge $50 to disable daytime running lights, you wouldn't think it would be much more than that, it's a 10 minute job with a lap top but who knows
I'm almost positive you will not throw codes and your speedo will not be incorrect with just a gear ratio change. I swapped from 3.55 to 4.10 in my dakota and didn't have any problems.
I got my gears changed at the dealer and they flashed my truck to be with 456, that's what it sais when I plug in my superchip, but I don't know how much it costs or if it was part of the install.

Yeah the dealer out here said they can do it but they didnt give me a yes on reflashing for the gears. Yeah it would be nice to have an indefinite answer. Going to run a tire just a hair smaller than my stock size. ( 275/60/20 to 285-305/55/20) wasn't sure on the width.

What kind of mileage you get with those gears compared to stock? I'm gonna be going with 35's on a 4" lift and calculated that i need a 3.77 gear to match the same gearing as 3.55's on stock 33's. Just wondering if going with a 3.92 or 4.10 would give me a tiny bit more grunt to stay in 4 cyl when cruising i'd like to maintain or improve my mileage best as possible with the lift, lemme know what you think thanks
