Opened my hood to check oil, and now it will not latch shut. I pulled the release lever several times to make sure it's not stuck. I lubed the latch with spray. I can latch the mechanism with a screwdriver, and then release it with the release lever. But when I try to close the hood it just will not latch down correctly. After much force I did get it to stay down, but it just doesn't seem right. The release latch now pulls hard as you can tell there is preasure on the latch. Please help!

 

Open your hood... Adjust the hood stops. Turn them down by a 1/4turn and try that. If not go down another quarter turn.
