Default headers

i see the short tube headers and i see the long tube headers. i really want some long tube headers but will have a problem with my check engine light. (2012 5.7). i could go the short tube route but will not be happy cause its more of a i want what i want on my truck. can the dealer do anything to help solve that code problem for long tube headers? i have gave up on modding my truck but theres just three things i must have with any vehicle i have. intake, mod exhaust, and headers. can anyone help me with this.

If you're worried about your the O2 sensors with LT headers, you can always install spark plug anti-foulers.

Both long & short tube headers are worthless unless you are doing headwork and camming it up.
Save your money an buy a superchips tuner. You`ll benefit more from that alone.
The dealer wont do anything to help you with ANY mod`s.

You will get the PO170 lean running code if you install the headers. Does Super Chips have a way to remove that code? Do they even have anything for the 2011+ Hemi yet?

Also, how many non foulers would you need to install to trick the ecu? 2 or 4?

The factory is sure trying to make it hard to do any mods to these newer cars/trucks. I think there needs to be a campaign against these dealers to lighten up. What business is it of theirs if someone wants to do mods on the car/truck. It's pretty obvious that if you install a cam or headers or such then you are willing to forego your warranty. These dealers nowadays want to control you like never before.

LT headers will certainly help out even if they are the only mod. Now, they would benefit more from supporting mods, but any LT header would provide a descent gain with nothing else. You would gain more from LT's over shorties regardless, but the shorties would be better at lower-mid rpm range and LTs from mid-high rpm.

I would worry about your Dealer providing you a warranty on your engine if you have issue's. My dealer stated: "as long as you don't touch the cats, your fine", that entailed catback and JBA shorties which is what I did.
Dealers love to point finger on you when you have mods. Only thing you can do is spend hours on the phone with Chrysler complaining and spending time proving it's not your fault, even though it should be the other way around.
