09-12 Lifted Dodge owners.. Steering Issues.. HELP!!I have a 11 Ram 1500, i put a lif
I have a 11Ram 1500, i put a lift and 35's on... I didnt notice this till after i put the lift on.... the new 1500's dont have steering stabilizers. These tires yank me all over the road with every bump... they dont offer a stabilizer for it? do they make a better aftermarket rack and pinion for this? What have you guys found that works? or whats your advice?
Are you sure the alignment is correct. How big was your lift. Several people on here have lifts without steering stabilizers and none have complained about it pulling them around. One option would be to just add a steering stabilizer to your truck but I would make sure 100% that the lack of a stabilizer is what is causing your problem to start with.
4" lift with 35x12.5x20. I had the alignment done when i had the tires put on. it drives straight but when i hit bumps it yanks the wheel, the rack and pinion it comes with has a built in dampening system but its not built for this size of tires i guess. and there is no stabilizer option for these trucks there's no exposed trac bar. i had a 2500 before this and i had all kinds of means for putting on a stabilizer, but i have looked for ways to fab up brackets ext. Just nothing will seem to work because it will have to move with the suspension.
also, nothing is leaking, tie rods and ball jts are tight, and in good shape. It has me stumped. The truck only has 20k and i am only owner, the truck has been babied. All the miles are hwy.
I just put my 6 inch RCX lift on with 35" tires and American Eagle 20" wheels and it seems like the wheels are out of balance between 40-70mph and the steering wants to pull me everywhere and the vibration makes me not want to drive it anymore. I have a 2010 Ram 1500 with 37k miles. Let me know what you found out if any please. I am going back to the place I had install the lift to tell them to fix it. Thanks

I looked at a leveling kit for my 2500. I also read the installation instructions. The instructions listed alignment specs for 35" tires, warning that oversize tires need different alignment.
