Thanks for the info. DodgeCares, I called the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center 800 number and the rep ran my VIN. Turns out my truck was part of the K17 recall and my dealer performed the inspection/service last year. The rep stated that since I am out of warranty, the dealer might charge me a diagnostic fee, but could reverse the charges if they determine it is the same K17 recall issue. So I will take the truck in and see how it goes, will keep you guys posted.

RG,

If it is the same repair and the dealer tells you that you must pay then I would suggest a call back to Chrysler before you pick up the vehicle.

mine was in 2x for this. First, I had no issues but they reflashed and were supposed to test the actuators. This was done at a different dealer ( where I bought the truck when I used their last free oil change coupon ) A year or so later, an actuator went bad so I went to a local dealer with a much better service dept and it was reflashed yet again, removed center console and bezel, replaced actuator. Repair order said "reapplied recall K17 " and it was covered. I was at about 60k and only had the lifetime power train warranty left.

Yes, this will be the second time for this K17 repair. First time my truck was in for another issue and they performed the K17 inspection test/reflash. Got the truck back the same day, pretty sure no actuators were replaced since everything was working fine. This is good to know in case I am charged for the repair.

I took it in yesterday had the oil changed and dealer says that my truck is not covered under this recall. Got in drove down to the gym, left the gym and D@^^n thing started blowing out of the dash vents for the first time in a month. I noticed that the seat had adjusted by the person who changed my oil and when i tried to readjust it the the back rest would only go forward. I stoped at autozone to see if they had a Haynes repair manual for this truck. They did not and said that they weren't avaiable for this model. &**(((*&^%$$.....Got back in the truck and the ac will only blow out at the floor....&*&*&^*&$&^$#&^$&&^*&^%.....Got home check a few things under the hood fuses and such, diconnected and reconnected the pos on the battery....Got in started it up....Back rest on the seat working again yeah....AC the same boooooooo....now lumbar on seat won't work....I think its time to trade this P.O.S.......................Maybe a ford HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no. Does that mean the seat controls are on the CANBUS too ?!?!? I've found (the hard way) that if ANYTHING on the CANBUS (attached to the chassis controller) is throwing error codes, stuff like you are seeing will happen. Random messages on the bus confuse everything attached, and strange things like you are seeing happen.

My AC didn't work for a while, then my windows wouldn't move, wipers would randomly wipe the dry windshield, lights would flash, turn signals wouldn't work, etc,...total insanity.

They should be able to read codes off the bus and tell you what's messed up.

( BTW: When I called Chrysler on a Saturday evening while ON VACATION they hooked me up to a service guy in California, because they were the only ones open at the time. When he told me he had no idea, I told HIM I guess I'll get a Ford then. He promptly hung up on me...great service. )

My low tire lights come on from time(tires will all be the same PSI and set at the factory recomended PSI) and now that you mentioned it my windows have also had some weird issues. I really am considering something other than dodge. I've owned dodge trucks since 1993. This is the first one that I've had any complaints with. All the others had 100-120k miles with no problems. This one @ 30k cracked manifold, at 37k leaking water at the back of the cab. Now at 45k the electrical systems seems to be going crazy! Maybe I will trade it to a dodge dealer and get a new one. Then the dealer will have no choice but fix it! HA

They really should be able to tell you quickly which device on the bus is throwing things out of whack. They saw a "radio unit not responding" or something like that, on mine. Could be something simple and cheap (or not).

With multiple issues, it might be worth taking the top off the TIPM and make sure that all the connectors on the bottom are locked.

Finally made time this week to take my truck into the dealer for service. The service report stated replaced damaged actuators and reprogrammed A/C system. The repair was covered under the K17 recall at no charge, great to have working A/C again.
