Default Aftermarket Alarm and Remote Start

Hello,
I have a brand spankin shiny new 2012 Ram 1500 ST Quad Cab. I'm looking at getting an Alarm and Remote Start system. My first question is am I able to use the factory fobik? I understand it won't ring like other 2way car alarms. And secondly, what system do you guys recommend?

You'll be able to use either fob but of course the factory one doesn't have the start button nor does it ring so that only leaves the aftermarket fob for those functions.

You can get the factory system and integrate a aftermarket to it....they make a module that will make them work togather...you will spend a lot more money though...just in parts alone

I'm looking for the thread right now, but you can order a kit (DB-ALL) to install on your truck and use your factory FOB for autostart. You just hit the lock button three times and BOOM your truck starts right up. I just ordered my unit late last week and i'm still waiting on it to show up. $50 on ebay and the guy will program it for you to your vehicle. there is a how-to video and it is real easy to install. I'll let you know when i find the link and/or install mine to see how it works.

I found the link to the install: http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=107176
