Default 09 Ram 1500 - Driver side 1" lower than Pass side

Hey All,

I'm new to this forum, and I have a 2009 dodge ram 1500 that I have owned since new. I currently have 102,000 MILES on the truck, however recently the drivers side of the truck is sitting lower than the passenger side.

MODS to the truck: It is running a 2.5F/0.75R" rough country level lift, it has rancho shocks in it that were just put in 10,000 miles ago.

The driver side sag started about two weeks ago, and is now 1.5" lower than the pasenger side. Everything is tight, in the front end, the struts/shocks were checked, and they are working properly.

The only conclusion I can come up with, is that the springs on the driver side are starting to wear out, and need to be replaced. Is this common?

I don't carry a lot of weight in the box, I pull a boat a couple times a year (5000lb boat), haul a snowmobile trailer with two sleds (4000lbs tops).

Any advice/help in this matter would be great!!!

Thanks!!!

Spring fatigue up front is my best guess. Yes it can happen. I would say that fatigue up front would cause the back to sag as well because it puts more weight transfer on it. I would think that the back is fine. The "shocks" are more or less struts so they wouldnt effect ride height at all even if they were totally shot. That would just effect rebound when traveling over bumps and would cause you to bob going down the road and feel like your hitting potholes even on small bumps.
Have you checked to see if the DS spring hasn't cracked or broken?

Not sure what RC's policy is on defective springs. I'd give them a call and explain your situation and mayeb see if they can help you out for a warranty??? 102kmi on a 4yr old vehicle seems like mostly highway travel to me anyways.

I'm having the same issue right now, about to crack into it this weekend. I'm betting it's something along the lines of rear coil fatigue, I'm also running 2.8 in the front, 1 in the rear. Have you measured all four corners to see where the most amount of drop is? I know there is an RRT out about rear springs but both dealers in my area don't seem to be much help after calling them today. Be sure to keep us posted and I'll do the same.
