Default Side view mirror LED's

I have an '09 with the courtesy and turn signal ligts on the side view mirrors.

ON the drivers side, I noticed the courtesy lights stopped working and the turn signal ligs appear weak.

Is this a known issue? Any suggestions?

It's a known issue, and from what I hear you need to replace the whole asembly.
I'd try to re-build before spending money on a whole new mirror. Not sure how easily they come apart??

Darn. Just noticed that the courtesy LED light on my passenger side stopped working recently too. Right around 37K miles - wouldn't you know it?

I suppose that's not included within the lifetime powertrain warranty, is it???

On the regular mirrors the lens is a little tricky but comes out, on the tow mirrors it is super easy, small screwdriver, pops them out, and 2 small wires are clipped to them, I took mine out when they went out, drilled them out and installed the leds of my choice, I went with blue, it really looks good to me, at night the whole ground lights up blue.

No, especially since it has nothing to do with the powertrain.

Any body part and non-mechanical parts are covered under the basic bumper-bumper warranty.

If it happened at 37kmi, I'd see if the dealer would still cover it. Worth a shot because it could havebeen out the past 1-2kmi and just never noticed it.

Can you tell me what type of LEDs you used?

Also, I'm wondering if the LEDs themselves are really my problem. LEDs are supposed to last something like 30,000 hours. I doubt all three LEDs in that module died at the same time?

Rob no problem, just take out the lense and get your volt meter ,unclip the 2 wires and put your volt meter on DC, press your unlock on your remote and you should see 12 volts till the relay shuts off, if you dont you have other problems, if you do you need LEDs
