Default Damaged Ignition Module

I have been having problems turning my key FOB in the ingnition of my 2009 Ram 1500. I think I turned the FOB too quickly before the key FOB was all the way in and something broke inside of the ignition. I had been able to still start the truck until yesterday when I could not turn it at all. My guess is whatever broke inside of the ignition finally jammed which prevented me from turning the key FOB. So I had it towed to the dealer who said the ignition module was broken and quoted $390. He said it was not under factory warranty anymore. I bought it in Dec of 2008.

Does this sound reasonable?

Knowing where you are might help. If in doubt take it to a couple of other shops for quotes and compare.
