Most others have covered what I would post to check. I happen to have an 09 SLT 4x4. Just turned 30,000mi. I have had no real issues with the vehicle. Had a few rattles in the dash, but have been fixed. I have not experienced the hemi tick or torque converter issues that some have reported. Just finished a 2K road trip and averaged 19.5mpg.

While the 09 was the first year for the 4th gen, it has been a good truck with no problems in almost 4 years.

Thats part of the great ride. I found years ago deviating from the load range and tread type (like the factory Goodyears) helped ruin the ride. Plus changing shocks from factory to something else. I like that great soft ride of my truck. Any one that wants to sell their low mileage Goodyears I'm game to buying another set. I don't worry about snow and as far as off road I do some of that in pastures. The posi differential so far has been all I have needed even in tall wet grass. I have tis 2009,first year 4th and a 2003 first year 3rd gen. On my 3rd gen I have had far less issues and better fit of doors and body panels then many 2005s up that I have known. Same with my 2009. I think those 'first' years the assembly line and workers are scrutinized and managed more closely then after the line and models run a while. My 2003 has the word OK in green written in several places under and in body panels. Also numerous lines and check marks in green. Fit and finish with it was excellant as well as alignment etc. My 2009 the fit, finish, interior assembly, alignment etc is excellant with it also. Few minor TSB hiccups has been all.

This all sounds good to me. As long as I'm not looking out for anything major. As it turns out, I may just be buying a 2013 build straight from the factory. Believe it or not, I will have cheaper monthly payments on the 1500 than I do on the Dakota.
