Got my truck worked on today.
Remember those cracked valve stems. well they told me you have to replace the whole thing if it is cracked as they have to send in the whole thing to Dodge for the warranty. So it cost me the full $100.00 deductible.
So....I pull out of the dealership and drive a few miles and the low tire light and message comes on. Back the 5 miles to the dealer. Pull in and they take it away. At the same time I ask to make an appointment to have my rear passenger door fixed. It locks but does not unlock. They ask me why I didn't fix it this morning and I said I didn't have the time, but I cancelled my appointments so Now I was thinking about it. So they pulled it in and after another hour, 3 total now, they said they figured out that the module in one of the bags was not the correct sensor. So it was not connecting to the computer. They also said they would order the actuator for the door, and not charge me another $100.00 deductible. So now next week I go back to the dealer to get my tires taken off again and my door fixed. 4 hours, to get two valve stems fixed..They actually have a cafe in the dealership so I was there so long I decided to get lunch. I wonder if that is a trick to get cafe business. LOL..At least I am not getting charged the $100.00 deductible out of all this.
Sorry forgot to mention the new stems are the black ones. (Rubber)
Now a question. I got those 4 rims, from an Express, off of Craigslist. ($400.00) So the ad said it had the sensors, but when I got there they were not on them. They did have the valve stems. Now....Do I need new stems or can I use the ones currently on the rims without the sensors...Here are pics

Do I need the sensor on it to make it work or will it hold air like it is?

I wouldnt trust it to hold air, at least put some new non-sensor rubber ones in if you`re just using them for winter.
In the 2nd picture, looks like to me they broke the sensors off (???) likely when they removed the tires. New sensors will have to be programed to your truck. I believe if you install a set of wheels from another truck, those will have to be programed to your truck as well. I went thru this myself last year when i bought a spare set of steel wheels for the winter tires for my truck. Now, if you put just plane ole rubber stems in, i`m sure you already know that the TP monitor warning light will always be on.

Yup, thats exactly what i did. I`ve heard people say that you can shut the TPMS light off if you have a superchips programmer. I cut a really dark piece of window tinting film and placed it right over the TPMS light in the dash. It stays clung to the plastic dash panel really good, so thats keeping it from annoying me at night when i drive. Then when spring rolls around, i put my 20 inchers back on, the TPMS light goes out immediately.
