Wow! $26 for 5 quarts! In Canada we would easily have to pay twice that amount! Matter of fact, we would be lucky to get dino oil for that price.

p.s. gas is going up by about 11 cents/liter here this week. That puts us at about $1.44/liter that's $5.45/USgallon!

Count your blessings boys!

yeup, we went up 10 cents a gallon here just overnight in the usa.

They`ve got us bro, they have it, we need it.
We need to unite, take over ALL goverments & oil industry, problem solved.

If you take over the old machine, do not feed it, it will die
Then you build a newer better more efficient machine... it runs much better & cheaper, everyones happier

I`m ten minutes from chinamart, valvoline or pennzoil is $24 bucks for a 5qt jug of valvoline syn-power or pennzoil ultra.

I dont care about all the amsoil guru oil tests either, any good synthetic will do just fine, so why pay the extra price.
When the oil looks dirty, change it, spin on a new filter, engines are happy.
not sure where u r from. we have a distribution warehouse nearby. makes it easy. that could be a problem. i see your point.

I have used Amsoil products for 20 or so years. They are considered TOP TIER world wide. Amsoil oils are known for consistently showing excellent wear ratings as well as longevity of additive packs in oil testing. The XL series is equivalent to Mobil One and usually puts out somewhat better oil/wear ratings on oil analysis. To say ALL synthetic oils are alike is like saying ALL blue jeans or steaks or beer is alike. I dislike 'shopping' in stores. I like ordering on line. Big Brown delivers Amsoil in usually 24/48 hours. Oil filter technology has really changed like oil. There are filters that are designed for 15,000plus miles now. I have run Amsoil in vehicles 25,000 miles for 250,000 in the past with no engine issues. I use Amsoil XL5w20 in two vehicles and change every 6000 in one and 7500 in another because of warrantys. I use Amsoil 15w40 in my diesel and change every 10,000 and have left it for two years but usually one year. I use Amsoil 5w30 XL in my Corvette and go by the oil message center. I also use Amsoil in a 30 horse diesel tractor as well as Amsoil gear/hydraulic oil. Made a noticable difference in wet clutch/brake operation over the factory fill. Nothing wrong with Mobil Oil but the Amsoil equivalent is a tad better and for me easier to get and similarly priced. www.amsoil.com www.bobistheoilguy.com

Amsoil has many different classes and types of oil and lubes for many applications. For the most part their products is as good as it gets. Thats a proven fact. Not BS or shooting from the hip.

thanks guys im going with the 5w-20w series 2000 oil i usually run it 10,000 with there oil filter and air filter. the oil usually doesn't look to bad. ive used it in a few trucks and it never let me down. i put a intake manifold gasket on my dads 360 in his 98 ram and the motor looked great with a 120,000 0n it. im a believer in amsoil its a quality product.

You can't tell if oil is 'dirty' or if additives are used u-p by feel. It takes a oil analysis. If you do a few of them it gets you a baseline on that engine.http://www.blackstone-labs.com/report-explanation.php

Be wary of any "extended" use oils, especially the Amsoil product IF USED FOR EXTENDED INTERVALS. They all show that they get "thicker" over extended heating and cooling cycles. It's how they last so long.

Problem is - the MDS system is VERY viscosity specific for proper operation. Although the Amsoil product shows great protection properties even up to 20,000 miles, it's proven that after 12,000 miles their 10w-30 product actually measures thicker than 20w-50!

Amsoil is a great product, but you should change it BEFORE it thickens. As a result, I can see no reason to pay for a premium product when a synthetic product costing much less will perform as well for say 5,000 to 6,000 miles, which is the latest I will go between oil changes. Personally, I use Valvoline SynPower at 6,000 changes unless I'm towing or up at the farm on dirty/dusty roads with a lot of short trips when I shorten up to 5,000 miles changes. I used to use Mobil 1, but found my "Hemi Tick" is for some reason loudest with this oil. It's barely perceptible when I use Royal Purple or Valvoline - and again, I see no reason for RP as it's cost is up there with Amsoil. I just happened to catch it on a hell of a sale once.

As for the filter, I'm told by a very good source that Champion Labs still makes the DEALER Mopar filters (great filters whether they say Mopar/Champ/Mobil 1/RP or K&N on them). However, the retail Mopar filters found at department stores are made under contract by Fram...
