Default 4th Gen. 4WD lock

Alright guys so I just have the conventional 3.55 open rear end, no limited slip or anything but on my 4wd **** it says 2wd, 4 high and 4 low lock. What exactly do they mean by "lock" when i have no LSD or locking rear end?

Lock means that the front and rear driveshafts are locked together - no center diff. So in simple terms it means - don't be driving on dry pavement in 4wd lock unless you want to start tearing stuff up in the diffs and tcase.

So it binds in 4 low just like all 4wd systems i've owned does. Does this mean 4wd HI has more give to it?

Open your glove compartment and take out the manual - it will tell you everything you want to know about your 4wd selector

4wd High uses a wet clutch in the Transfer case to allow some slip without grinding things up
