All I wanted is a Leveling kit.

Recently, it has been brought to my attention that you are interested in leveling and/or lifting your truck. The bad part about it I can do all the work my self in a couple hours.
Plus save my self lots of money doing it my self.

But they say if I do it will Void the warranty.

I asked already.

Yes, that is highway robbery, since there are VERY GOOD 4" lift kits for SFA trucks for under $1000.

BTW, they CANNOT void your warranty if you choose to buy a kit and do it yourself UNLESS they can prove your kit/install directly caused the issue for which you seek warranty work. Obviously, none of the lift parts would be covered.

Read/understand your rights under the Magnuson/Moss Act...

Marv,

I agree with Hammer. That whole void your warranty line is way over used. The parts you swap will not be covered except by the Mopar warranty that comes with them. Any failure that is caused by a modification may not be covered as well. Voiding a warranty is limited to a very few conditions such as a salvage title, odometer tampering, and the like.

All I wanted is the 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit thats a 2 spacers one the ones that bolt on top of the stock shocks have a Wheel Alignment, and get the headlights readjusted for the leveling kit.

So just about everything else on the truck will stay factory stock if I could get something in writing from Dodge saying I can do this stating it not going to VOID my warranty that would be great the only thing that might have a little more stress on the Stock stuff is the front axles but once agin it going to so little diffrence in the truck I doubt very much it break anything doing the leveling lift kit.

I dont beat on the truck at all if I wanted a truck to beat on I would buy a cheep used throw away type truck not $40K brand new truck to beat on, I make good money for a living but not that good to beat a new truck into the ground.

I would like to install the spacers my self this way I know there put in right I not saying a ASE mechanic would do the work wrong But I am a A&P aircraft mechanice that works on multi millon dollar-billion dollar aircraft for a living for over 30 years now a leveling kit is some thing I can do with my eyes closed.

If my work not right pepole can and will die so it has to be right there no just pull over to the next cloud and call a tow truck things will get real bad real fast.

All the language is in your warranty booklet and is in writing. If you do not have a copy of the warranty booklet you can get a copy at the link below. If you are looking for something in writing to your specific vehicle and your specific lift, Chrysler will not do that for each individual customer. If they are Mopar parts Chrysler will provide the warranty on the parts as indicated and if you install them yourself Chrysler will not warranty the labor or any failure related to the installation.

I will not question the ability of any installer as far as their skills to make repairs and alterations to the vehicle. The fact remains that mistakes can and do happen, even by the most highly qualified individuals. If the failure of a part is due to installation and the work was performed at a Chrysler dealer using Mopar parts the labor will be covered under the warranty specified, typically 12 months. If the installation was done outside of a Chrysler dealer the labor is not covered.

Just do everyone a favor and read all of the threads about those leveling kits causing vibrations in many of the trucks they are installed in - so that you don't have a new thread next week complaining about how the pucks are causing your cv's to vibrate.

Nice to know this about the leveling kits I know on big lift kits lot times you have get CV put in the drive shafts to get the drive line vibations out he drive shafts the lift kit changes the driveline geometry and sometimes you have to get the drive shaft lengthened also.

I was woundering about the front axles with a lift kit now you have changed the geometry angles will cause vibrations Now I know thanks.

Can cause vibrations - seems to be luck of the draw with no rhyme or reason to which trucks will have issues. The cv must be on the hairy edge of its operating range with the 2" pucks so some vibrate and some do not.

This is what I come up with at least for me having the dealership install there lift kits to much money I can’t see it.
If the dealership puts there lift kit on it only warranties it for 12 months bad deal plus the cost of the doing the work.
I paid for the lifetime warranty so I don’t have to screw with the truck myself down the road so why put the lift kit on if the dealership only going to put a 12 month warranty on their lift kit.
Putting my own lift kit on yes I know how and can for much less out of pocket money yes the lift kit will not be under warranty they say the lift kit more or less will not affect the rest of the Lifetime Chrysler warranty I don’t want to chance it with my luck.
Other have said a lift kit can cause vibration it’s a gamble been down that road before myself don’t want go down that road again.
So for me I going to leave the Truck stock and don’t have to worry about it so if or when the truck ever breaks just and them the keys and tell them fix it.
