I ended up getting the radio for $625 which included a lifetime warranty through the salvage yard, Standard Auto Wreckers. It came out of a 2009 Dodge Journey. http://www.standardautowreckers.com

The only thing that was different than I expected was that it had a 20GB HDD instead of a 30GB which I think was advertised in the 2010 lineup. Not that I cared since I knew I would never fill it up anyway.

I know that the same radio was a $1100 dealer installed option at time of purchase, and if memory serve me right it was $1800 for the radio from the dealer to be installed after purchase.

I wouldn't think twice about getting another from a salvage yard again. It was a great purchase and hasn't given me one issue yet and it has been in for over two years now.

I used to have a 7" Pioneer AVIC Z1 with a 60 gig hard drive and all the bells and whistles and paid less than that. There are other options out there that just OEM that can get you the same and more.

However, some people like the look of a stock unit. I've never understood it but some people do

2 interesting points, thanks
I was just looking at the Pioneer AVIC-X940BT on Amazon for $500 but I'd still have to spend $100 to keep my Sirrius. The other issue is still in question, what sort of interface harness/module is needed on these trucks? This is the main reason I wanted to go stock was to just plug it in and be done

Anything after market may FIT the vehicle but nothing after market will interface with the electrical without a harness. If you price shop, you can normally get them cheap on ebay.
