Default Radio turns off and back on by itself

Hi, I have a 2010 ram with navigation. Today while driving it the radio turned itself off and then back on by itself twice. Also the navigation is close to 2 miles off from where I am actually at. Has anyone else had these problems?

Well, these touchscreen radios are basically just computers. Sometimes they crash. I've had that happen with the RBZ (non-nav) in my Sport as well. The more typical failure is hanging on the splash logo for an extended period at vehicle start-up. When that happens, it seems to reset itself after 2-3 minutes and then reboot. I'd say if your restart issue isn't frequent then just live with it. Unless it is so regularly recurring that you can get it to happen at a dealer service visit there's nothing they will do for you (other than maybe offering to flash the latest version for you).

My failures of the radio are pretty infrequent... maybe a couple times a year. And it always reboots and goes back to normal.

Brad,

How often does this happen? Is the navigation consistently off from your actual location?

A 2010, depending on the mileage and build date, the vehicle will still be under the factory warranty if it needs a repair due to a defect. You may want to contact your local Dodge dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed.

If you have any inquiries or need additional assistance, feel free to PM me.

My REN radio constantly resets itself when it's cold. After the radio has been on for awhile and warms up, it works fine. My bumper to bumper warranty is out, so I'm screwed.

If you're still under warranty I'd get it replaced. I've had various problems with the RER (NavTeq Nav) unit in my Sport, everything from reboots to just dying completely. I think I'm on radio #4 in my truck since I bought it new.

My 2009 Dodge 1500 Laramie did the same thing. I took it in for repair and they had to replace the Radio. Thankfully it was under warantee. I would drive down the road and it waould shut off. In a few seconds it would reboot itself and a few more miles down the road it would do the same thing.

Thanks,
Rich

Mine does the same, i`ve learned to live with it. It always re-boots and its fine for awhile. (mine does it 2 or 3 times a year, not a bother for me) I`d rather the dealer NOT touch my truck, they ALWAYS seem to make it worse everytime i`ve had to take it in for warranty work. If you can live with it, leave it alone, it`ll re-boot once in awhile... its not really a big deal. If you trust your dealer to work on it, then by all meens, get`r fixed or replaced. My dealer told me its a simple re-flash that fix`s it... yeah right lol, no thanks, i`ll live with it.

Same here too, mine crashes 2-3 times a year, not really an issue, compared to how many times this laptop crashes in a week, lol.......the navi being off was solved 2 years ago , wheras i had to purchase updated software/maps from the software company through chrysler, just loaded a couple of discs into the unit and it updated, and its been on target since.

Just sit in the truck and scream at the radio....."The power of Christ compels you....The Power of Christ compels you"..... If that doesn't work call Anthony Hopkins.....He'll fix it.

The touchscreen in my Dodge Avenger 08 turns off then back on every 20 seconds. How can I fix this problem?
