Default Remote subwoofer control **** location ideas

I am installing a remote subwoofer control **** in my 2012 Sport (with console shifter) and I am looking for ideas on a good location. For those of you who have one installed, where have you put yours and are you happy with the location?

Once I drill the hole it's kind of a done deal....

Just wondering why you would need a sub control. I have installed MANY systems and never had any type of ****. The system should be designed so that the sub is controlled either by the crossovers or on the amp side. Sound should be tailored to your cab dynamics. In other words if the system is designed correctly you shouldn't ever need to mess with the sub. Plus it distracts your driving.
BTW where is your sub located?

My only word of warning when I tell anyone about a system is to watch your decibel levels. Especially you younger guys and girls. After 40 years of high decibel systems and multiple sound off trophies, I won the big Tinnitus prize. My ears ring all day and night long. It's enough to drive me into a nut house. I much rather have clear sound now, than loud sound any day.
So just be careful of your hearing. That's all. Just some advice.

I installed two type R 12's under the rear seat in a Foxbox. My amps are behind the rear seats (two Alpine mrd-m105) on the back wall. I am using the factory MyGig radio with a LOC on the rear channel. I am going to change out the factory speakers and add an amp for them eventually but right now they are powered by the radio. I keep the bass all the way down on the head unit.

Sometimes when I am all alone and in the mood I will jam out to whatever music I like at high volume levels. When my daughter is in the back seat I like to turn the subs way down. I was initially fading to the front to subtract bass but decided to install an LC-1 from PAC.

I am 40 and competed in SPL competitions heavily in the mid 90's and ruined my hearing, so I agree with keeping the DBs down for the 'youngsters'.

Hey the mid 90's is also when I competed. Seems so long ago. Funny to think I had a 90 Ramcharger that the stereo was worth more than the truck....LOL.
Good luck with the install and hope you didn't think I was dissin' your install. Just questioning the need for a controller. Watching out for your kids hearing is commendable. Now if they just made a controller for my Factory Five Cobra side pipes.....

I too just recently installed a sub in my truck. (Type S 10" powered by a Alpine MRP-M500 running off factory unit patched into the factory sub channel). I'm with Hy on the need for a sub remote. I frequently listen to tunes off my hard drive and some songs have higher bass outputs than others. so if i have the stereo cranked and switch to a random song that has different recorded volume levels than the other, i want the quick ability to turn the bass down or up for that song. Instead of navigating through the menus to change the levels. I'm currently waiting for my remote to come in so I haven't installed it yet. I'm thinking, if it fits, of putting it in the slot for the factory electronic brake control.

Yeah, that would be a good spot but I may add the factory controller later. I guess I need to take a little time and come up with a perfect location.

I have no pics now but I installed my bass **** in the panel around calf height of my right leg. Pops out easiley with I think one screw and there is plenty of room for the wireing. Easy to reach and looks clean.

if you don't have a brake controller what about in the little cubby hole where the brake controller would be.

I've got my subs controlled by a toggle switch on the remote wire. It allows me to have the bass up when I ride by myself and to turn my subs off when kids ride in the backseat. I still have good bass from the sony 6x9's in the doors. It also keeps me from changing my settings. I made a small bracket out of a piece of aluminum angle and mounted it on the right under the dash with a factory dash screw.

I decided to install mine in the small removable trim piece on the left of the console. This way I can get this one piece to go back stock if I need to one day.

Amps behind seat
