I would like to see a air suspension set up in person on the Ram before I render any judgement, aftermarket has been installing air bags in trucks to increase cargo capacity and the car hopper guys use air to raise, lower or jump thier cars, so the theroy is sound.

But the application, is kinda off, whos going to take this shinny expensive truck off road where thier potential to rip or tear a bag, bajja trucks don't use air, its all in the shocks and suspension travel.

For the intial investment of 1595.00, that will buy a lot of flue or fund othier options for a buyer to add to the Ram.

17in Rims and tires will accomplish the same task as a 20 in rim and wheel with the extra cost air suspension.

not so long a go a 15 rim and tire was standard issue and no one had problems getting in and out of a stock suspension on a mid 90s truck.

Default Another air suspension option - TotalLoadControl

Based on my research, the air suspension option is available on the Laramie, Lone Star, Big Horn & Outdoorsman models.

There is another air suspension option - TotalLoadControl™ air suspension. TLC is an aftermarket suspension that can be added to any 4th Gen RAM 1500 model. TLC also has kits for 02-12 RAM 2500 & 3500.

TLC is a bolt-on system that adds over 5,000 pounds of lift when you need it. Doesn't interfere with smooth factory ride.

Current price $399; $529 with wired air compressor; about $620 with a wireless compressor.

Check out TotalLoadControl.com

Isn't the air bags main purpose, in the 2013 Ram, to lower the truck slightly to increase gas mileage on the highway?

I don't think it's intended purpose is for offroading. Maybe a slightly lift to get over a snowbank, or log here and there.

The old steel spring system normaly dont wear out or break but there is cases of springs breaking but not to offen.

Air bad system sooner or latter will need work Air bags wear out, Compresser wear out the swicthes wear out ect ask me how I know this.

The car trucks I had theat had them on them Yes It took many years and many miles fro the Air Ride to go bad but it a extra cost to fix if you take a look at cars and trucks that have them lot of them swapped over to the Steel springs the ownners got tired of putting money and down time in to there Air ride.

If you'r planning to keep the New Ram forever think twice before you get Air Ride.

I know OTR trucks have Air Ride and they put many miles on there trucks but those are HD Systems built to last.

I normal cars and trucks are made to break so you trade them in for a new shinny one not to go a millon + miles.
