Default 2009 Vin, but maybe 2008 truck?

Hello all! First post! Love my truck so far!

I have what I think is a 2009, it says it's birthdate was 4-09, but it has a leaf spring suspension, and the rear storage area under the seats, look the same as the 04 we looked at. I thought I read that in 09, they went to a spring suspension, and that the seats changed? It doesn't really matter I guess, but I am just curious if there is an easy way to figure it out? Its a 2500, quad cab, short bed, 5.7 Hemi.

Thanks!

Well, I just looked in the FAQ, and the lowering section, and I saw that the head lights on my car are not those nice new onces, they are the ones with the two circles. I guess it's really an 08. :/

Thanks.

2500 have leaf springs, only 1500's have coils. The '09 2500 still had the same body style as the '08. They changed it to the current generation in 2010 model year.

Hello Power Sedan. Thank you very much for the reply, this is very confusing.

So, I guess when I am looking for body parts, go to the 3rd gen section, and 4th gen for engine and electrical? Or just stay in 3rd gen for everything?

3rd gen for everything if you have a 2009 2500. 2500 didn't become 4th gen until 2010
