This is the Dealer's and Buyer's fault, not Ram's. Look around the forums. The pricing for the NAV add on option has been out since at least October. So the dealer had access to this info and could of found out if he or she wanted to. No different than them still telling people today that you can't order an 8 spd with the Hemi yet.

In the past if your truck did not come with Nav, it cost 4 times as much to add as you had to change out the complete radio. Now Ram has made it possible to save the customer big money by making it available as an upgrade. The offer of $550 dealer installed for a $500 factory installed option seems very fair. If you were led to believe it would be no big deal (which doesn't mean no cost), then you need to address it with the dealer that told you the info. Especially since the pricing info "WAS" available to them back in October.

Default I was mislead

Don't get me wrong I love my Ram 1500 Lonestar, I got it fully loaded of so I thought. Afte my wife and I test drove it we were in love but we couldn't get the Nav to pull up (no icon) so I asked the salesman and after about 10 minutes of trying he told me that it may not have it but can be added so I asked how much, he stated that it wasn't much probably around $50 or less just to add si I told him to add it. After we done the paperwork and I went to get my new truck (which was parked out frontt) I asked th salesman did you get the navagation added, he told me the service department was closed (it was 7 pm) so I told him I would call him back to get an appoinment scheduled. For the next several days I call to get a price and appoinment but got the run a round, so I called the service manager and he informed me he could not get a price without the vin number, so I called him back with it, I again had to call several time over the course of a week to get the information and he informed me I had th Uconnect 8.4a and to add the navagation was around 600 dollars. Had I had known this I would have upgraded the truck to 8.4n but now I can't. I was very upset with the dealer ship either lying or that much misinformed about a product their selling. I should get the upgrade for free, at leaset that's my opinion.

It blows my mind that people think that what is a $500 factory option should cost less later. The cost of the factory option has always been published - how could it be less later?

I could understand if you wanted to order the factory Nav and the salesman said "You can if you want, but if you just get the base unit we can upgrade it for free/$50/whatever and it's the same thing." and then you found out it was $600.

It's easy to think that intangible things such as an unlock code, or the electrons that make up books or music don't cost anything to produce, and therefore should be free for the taking. However, if that were the case, in this example the factory Nav should be free, and iTunes should be free, and etc, etc.

Default Wow

I was not saying anything like you said, I was refering to the fact that the saleman and dealership should know and inform customers of the cost, he sounded sure of the fact that there was little cost to upgrade and I didn't know, I would have thought that a $47,000 dollar truck would have it. Thanks for your reply.
