Default Bully Dog Hemi Plus

I just got my new Bully Dog Hemi Plus tuner yesterday and I'm having issues with the install. The directions are close to useless...for example the detailed step by step instructions for updating the software don't match what happens on the laptop, so I think I have it downloaded correctly and go to the truck to set it up and go through the motions, that are not what the directions say will happen, and end up with a vehicle not supported error. And it seems Bully Dog works at their convenience not mine...which is M-F basically 9-5. So it seems I need to take a day off work to contact tech support?? So far I'm not tickled...the end results better be worth the hassle.

Any others having the same issue? I saw where some have tried the install several times and it finally takes, but I've done it 5 times now and nothing.

Check out their Facebook page, I have noticed they have helped others in off hours.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Excellent idea...I'll have a go of it.

Just thought I'd update in case others were having the same problem. Bully Dog has an "update agent" that will not allow you to push the 2 key if it is open. After downloading the correct app for your truck on the SD card install the card in the tuner and CLOSE the update agent to access the firmware update.

BTW, with my CARB approved Airraid cold air kit and Bully Dog tuner I'm getting 14.1 mpg around town, (no long trips yet) and 0-60 times around 7.25 seconds in my crew cab. I'll be running it at Mopar at the Strip in Vegas next month to get a real 1/4 mile time.

Is there a link or something that tells everything this tuner does? I thought there weren't any available for the 2012. I looked here:

http://www.bullydog.com/product.php?ID=443

Is that the product you're talking about? The feature list at the bottom doesn't seem too impressive, seems like a bunch of stuff I can already do with the little screen in the dash.

Can you do things like turn off eco mode/mds? Or modify the way it shifts (and especially downshifts)? Mess with the throttle response?

Their website is crap. This is the new unit for the HEMI.

The performance tune makes for snappier shifts and vastly improved throttle response. I did not see a setting to disable the ECO mode, but I wasn't looking for that in the purchase.

Is there a way to easily take it out when, for example, taking the truck in for service? Like, get the truck completely back to stock?

Oh yeah. Flash back to stock in a few minutes. And you don't have to keep it visible. After you flash the performance tune you can put the tuner in the glove box.

Which do you think is better. The Bullydog Hemi plus or the trinity t-1000?
