Ok folks. How long are we supposed to wait for the parts to get to the dealers? It will be February soon and I haven't received any notification to bring my truck in to have the pinion nut recall taken care of. What gives? Am I ?

You're "probably" not part of the recall. Notifications have been mailed to customers already. A couple of my friends have Rams within the build date recall, and have already received their recall notifications.

When was your truck built? If it wasn't early in the model year, it isn't included. You can look on your door tag or check on the Ram site checking your VIN.

Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2009-2010, Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota trucks, manufactured from July 1, 2009, through November 30, 2009, because a rear axle pinion nut may loosen due to a lack of adhesive.

Just recently bought my Ram 1500 and when I had it in the shop to get some work done, the dealer told me they expected the parts for the recall to be in around March.

Ramluv,

If the recalls applies to your vehicle, you would receive a notice in the mail, as POWER SEDAN stated. Are you the original owner of the truck, or has your address changed since you purchased it? If you'd like to send me your VIN#, I can review to confirm if your correct information is updated in our records.

In addition, as Topgun advised, you can review if there are any outstanding recalls on your vehicle, by visiting:
www.dodge.ca
Select “Vehicle Brand”
Select “Owners” at the bottom
Select “Vehicle Recall Inquiry”
Select a brand and “View …Recall Notices”
Select “Get Recall Information”
Enter last 8 characters of the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the
space provide and Select “GO”.
“Here are your results” It will list the vehicle with the complete VIN, a verbal description of the vehicle and recall, if any apply.

Let me know if you have any other inquiries.

I received the notice just before Christmas confirming that there is an issue and my truck is included in the recall, however according to my dealer and dodgecares there is no recall repair procedure or parts available yet.
