Paint under mirror going bad
The paint on my truck is going bad under the mirror. Has anyone else got this problem?? It is going off warranty at the end of next week and I need to know if this is a warranty issue.
Thanks

It's 3 years Bumper to Bumper. Everything is covered except the tires. If you have rust from say a stone chip, that would not covered because that would be considered lack of maintenance, you should of touched it up. But if the paint is coming off, as long as it isn't caused by some type of chemicals, bird droppings, neglect, ect, it should be covered. Look in your warranty book for details. If you don't have one, you can download it here:

I'd review the info and go to the dealer prepared as best you can.

My 11 started bubbleing two days after I bought on the front pass. fender. They gave me no problem fixing it but I had to wait over 45 days for a new fender because Ram wanted to replace the whole thing instead of just repainting. The bubbles looked like what the older Rams look like over the rear wheels when they start rusting.
My paint is coming off the rear painted bumper. Bubbling near where the plastic "step" covers are. I didn't know this was covered. I'll show the dealer next time I get my oil changed. I have 7/70 Max Care.
They took pictures today and will make a warranty claim with Chrysler. There is corrosion in the mirror frames and the resultant crud runs down the door and stains/etches the paint. Here's hoping.

My dealer made the claim and it got approved and the new mirrors are installed. I was told to put Vaseline on any metal parts to prevent future corrosion.
BTW does anyone know how to disassemble the mirrors as I would like to prevent it from happening again. Low confidence in Vaseline for this application.

All i`ve ever used is TurtleWax "ICE" and have never had a problem with the paint on my mirriors...yet.
The quality of the paint work by chrysler, to say the least, is inferior...it just plain sucks.
