Default Recon Xtreme Light Bar test?

I ordered a Recon Xtreme 60" light bar, but before I start splicing and stuff, I want to test the bar. I plugged it into the 4 pin harness I have on my 2010 Ram, but I didn't get any lights on the bar when I put my headlights on. I'm assuming the harness is working properly (assuming I know). Any other way to test it?

Hook it straight to the battery and see if it turns on. I've got a few of the Vision X lights on mine, wired them straight to the battery with a switch . They work well, not as good as I hoped, but ok. Your 60" bar ought to be pretty cool.

Do I have to cut the harness off to hook it up to the battery?

I would think that your light bar has positive and negative wires on it. To make sure it's working, prior to installing it, just hook those two wires up to your batteries positve and negative terminals. No cutting of wiring harnesses needed. After that you'll run wires into the cab to a switch you need to install. Pretty simple install.
