Since they changed the sensor over a week ago it does the same as m5biemer and Coastline. It is correct sitting in garage overnight, compensates quickly when I drive it out but then stays at morning temp for the remainder of the day. It's a software issue and they need to send out a fix for it (and not three months from now!).

What really bothered me about this was the heated seats and steering wheel "on" with remote start. Later in the day the temp would go in the 60's or 70's and heated seats and steering wheel would come on because the displayed temp would still be below 40 degrees. I liked this feature but had to disable it for this reason.

Ok. dodge dealer (Chrysler) has flash update to fix this. Had mine done today. They simply hookup modem to OBD port and it installs in minutes. There are actually 2 updates. Don't know what the other one was. Time will tell if this worked.

Keep us posted. I was at the dealership yesterday to have trailer brake controller installed. Would have liked to have had the flash done. I'd love to know if it worded though.

The 4Gen OAT is a POS, plain and simple. You can't trust it for about 15 mins. You have to wait about 15 mins for it to update. Once it starts to update, it moves one degree at a time until it reaches the current temp. It is very frustrating. They have had OAT gauges for about 30 years and I just don't understand how they could screw this thing up so badly.

My 2013 ram sxt has been in 12 times lol. My temperature reads -40 on and off everyday. It then throws the check engine light. I have taken it to another dealer other then where I bought it as they wouldn't do anything for me. Thus far they have replaced;
ambient sensor, door module, pcm, bcm, dash cluster and have updated several times.
We are still at square one. I have talked to the selling dealer and asked for a trade on a truck that works properly but they avoid me. Chrysler just keeps saying take it in again and again and again. Hey but they offered me two free oil changes !!!!!!

There was a TSB for inaccurate display of the temp. but that was for a variable 10 degrees or so.

If you're showing -40, the sensor is likely dead, dying or losing communication. It's INSIDE the drivers side mirror.

I don't know what their problem is....maybe the wiring in the mirror is the issue.

Here's a little tidbit to absorb.

Some recent reports indicate 2013 DS trucks setting an U110E Lost Communications code with the

outside ambient temperature sensor. The new location for the ambient temperature sensor is the

driver side outside mirror. The report indicates installation of 2012 mirrors without the ambient sensor

has been triggering the fault. Validate the correct part number of the mirror as needed to complete.
