Default Bilsteins and sway bar end links?

Hey all,

A couple months ago I installed Bilstein 5100s on all four corners of my 09 Crew Sport. Seems the extra lift (second highest setting) isn't sitting well with my sway bar end links. They are sitting at a pretty decent angle and I've recently developed a pretty obnoxious clunk when going over rough roads, not to mention the truck's handling is deteriorating noticeably. Has anyone else had issues with end links after installing a lift? Or has anyone had success finding replacement end links that are a bit longer to accommodate a lift? I've been looking online but it seems the only ones that aren't stock size or made for 4-6" lifts are for 3rd gens. Any help is appreciated!

Sorry to be bringing up an older thread here, but I've been searching all over the forum and it seems that nobody else has addressed the issue of replacing the sway bar end links to accommodate the 2-3 inches of front lift produced by the Bilstein 5100 shocks. Everybody on seems to have only replaced the shocks, but I have't read where anybody has replaced the end links, with longer ones. I did find one off road company leveling kit that includes adjustable links along with the bilsteins, AND new springs, but new springs are over kill and not needed in my own opinion. They do offer the end links separately, but at $215, It makes you wonder if you can find something cheaper elsewhere. Here's the link for the end links http://www.thecarlisuspension.com/do.../endlinks.html And for the whole shebang leveling kit that they offer....lol, don't look at the price. http://www.thecarlisuspension.com/do...velingkit.html

Wakepics, have you done anything to your truck to address this issue since? Has anybody else had the same issue?

I did lowering springs for the rear of mine to level it. My rear swaybar was at an angle, so I cut a piece out of the end link and welded it. Works great, and cost $0.

Well after doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that an adjustable sway bar end link is not needed for a leveling kit on an independent front suspension truck, which is where I was getting confused. I know on my 2001 1500, which has a solid front d44, i had to weld a sway bar drop down bracket on to correct the angle.

Check the A-arm and spindle for any signs of contact. When I first put mine on I noticed a slight clunk when hitting bumps at speed, got under the truck and noticed the angle was causing a slight rub at the bottom arm/spindle when the front would dive. A little time with a file took care of it, and I have put 23k on my 5100's set at max with no loss in handling and no more noises.

Default Bilstein 5100's & sway bar link

Has anybody considered this product: http://www.suspensionmaxx.com/dodge-...ront-2003-2013

If the link doesn't work, it is Suspension Maxx & I attached a pic of the sway bar links. I've ordered a pair as a preventative measure, and will report back.

Hey just wondering if you had a good experience with those Maxxlinks, I have 5100's set to 2.8 and need to replace the end links now after using the OEM ones for about 5 years.
