Default power windows falling down ???

Hi. I have a 2010 Ram reg cab slt. 48,000 on it. 2 times in about 3 weeks i have went to get in my truck and the windows have slid down. One time i went to wal mart and i came out and my driver window was down half way. This morning i woke up and both windows were down 1/2". Anyone know what the hell the problem is and what the cost to fix will be ? They are electric by the way

Sounds like you are leaning on the unlock button, which drops the windows halfway. Were the doors still locked?

Is there any play with the window once particularly open?

'10 must be different then '09, both of mine drop completely with the key fob, I think, it's been a few months since having to use that option.

The windows only drop to the point that you let go of the button on an 09. By default they will go 1/2 way, more if you stay on the button.

Maxbob,

Is that 48,000km or 48,000m on the vehicle? If you want to PM me your VIN# I can review your vehicle's warranty for you.

Complaint is when coming out to the vehicle the windows are down.

Vehicles equipped with door modules have a Remote Open Feature to allow the owner to remotely lower the windows by an RKE function. This feature allows the owner to use the remote key transmitter to perform this function remotely.

The feature control is as follows:

1. Press and release the UNLOCK button on the transmitter.
2. Within five seconds, press and hold the UNLOCK button until the windows lower to the desired level or lowered completely.

You may need to relearn the door modules if they are going all the way down by default.

To relearn/normalize the door module, start by raising the door glass to the full-up position by pulling up on the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully closed. Continue to hold the window switch up for two seconds after the door glass is full closed.

Lower the door glass to the full-down position by pushing down (depress) the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully open. Continue to hold the window switch down for two seconds after the door glass is fully open.

This is probably due to Chrysler having one of the poorest designed remotes ever. Whenever I have mine in my pocket and am moving around or kneeling down it accidentally activates the buttons. Every other vehicle I have had has recessed buttons so they are hard to inadvertently activate in a pocket. Every one except the Dodge one.

I agree - I'm constantly setting off the alarm when I'm working in the shop.

LOL - no. but I do lean against things or squat down when welding. Doesn't take much to press down on the buttons.
