Default 2011 Ram 1500 Mirror Issues

I have an issue with one of my mirrors and am hoping at least one of you has run across this in the past. I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with towing mirrors (power, heated, turn signals, puddle lamps). I noticed the other day that the turn signal didn't work on the passenger side and after closer inspection noticed that one of the two LED lights for the puddle lamp still worked. I am able to adjust the mirror with the controls on the driver's side and the heat function still works.

I took the door apart this morning to see if one of the wires was loose, that didn't seem to help. All the connectors are plugged in to their respective slots.

It looks like there is 2 components in the door that control the mirrors and the power window up/down function.

I am wondering if the rectangular box the mirrors plug in to has gone bad?
If this were a bad ground all functions of the mirror would stop correct?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who has an idea of what's going on or an idea as to where I should look to troubleshoot.

Puddle lamp LEDs could be screwed up due to moisture/road salt getting into the module and corroding the connections. Happened to me. Easy enough to pop it out with a small screwdriver and take a closer look.

I will check that out with the puddle lamps. But why would the turn signals stop working? They are on the top corner of the mirror. Everything works great with the driver side mirror.

Phalen00,

Were you able to narrow down where the concern is coming from? Before you get too deep into it, you might want to consider having it looked at by a Dodge dealer. If you'd like to review your vehicles warranty PM your VIN# or you can contact my US counterpart, Chris (DodgeCares). You can also contact the Customer Care Department at the numbers posted.

Canada: 1-800-465-2001
US: 1-800-992-1997

I hope this helps!

Phalen,

This seems to be pretty common. My truck was less than a year old when the passenger side signal light stopped working. I have an appointment with the dealer to have the whole mirror replaced. Thats pretty ridiculous in my opinion. Just thought I'd let you know you're not alone.

Make that both of my mirror-mounted signal lights are now out - have an appointement at the dealership in a couple weeks.

Im having a similar issue with my factory tow mirrors, i don't have the puddle lamps of signals in them but i have power and heat, i always have them flipped up for my ghost trailler.. during the winter i flipped them down (winter tires were on) flipped them back up a month ago big tires back on. Now before winter power worked on both mirrors didn't matter if they were flipped up or down, now only my passenger side works when there flipped up, drivers side only can adjust the mirror up and down but not side to side.... but when i flip my mirrors back down they work fine... i thought it might have been a lose connection took the door panel off unplugged the mirror hooked everything back up still the same problem didn't have much time to mess around with it but it's a pain...
