Default Door Lock Actuator 2009 Ram 1500

The driver door lock actuator is not locking and unlocking properly on my 2009 Ram 1500. I have to press the key fob a couple of times to lock or unlock the door. How do I replace the lock actuator?

Are you sure it is not the FOB causing your problem? They have a habit of causing the exact problem you are describing.

The problem with the FOB is the contacts on the button. They get dirty and make a poor contact. Just take the Fob apart and clean it out and clean the button area with a light abrasive, like a pencil eraser. Clean any dirt out from the cleaning.

Also the battery may be getting weak and in need of replacement.

I had the FOB replaced last month as it would not unlock any doors, nor lock any doors, nor remote start the truck. The second FOB which my wife uses worked fine. And same issue today with second FOB. That is, driver door will not lock nor unlock on first press of the FOB - have to press several times for door to lock or unlock. Only the driver door is having issues with the actuator. If it was the FOB, would I have trouble with all doors?

Yeah good luck. I have had to have two of my actuators replaced already. (2009 quad cab) You might want to buy a few spares....They are way over-comlicated for what they do.
Blame the engineers as usual.

Does anyone have the part number for the rear passenger door lock actuator? I'm having trouble finding it.

Thanks

AndyDLC,

Have you contacted a Dodge dealer parts department? They will be able to locate the part# you need using your VIN#.
