Default Air Conditioner....still broke....third time.

So, I went back to the dealer with the truck last Friday. They gave me a rental car for the day. Had the truck all morning. Called to tell me that some valve was leaking. They did not have the replacement but were getting one from another dealer. Installed it. Said, Quote "they drove it until their nipples got hard. So I picked it up. It felt good and cold this time. Drove 89 miles home. Got it home and when I shut the truck off I could here the fan spool down. Was not doing that before. Go out to dinner with the wife. Nice and Cold. Get in this morning....Yep warm air blowing out the vents. Drive to work. Get out and no fan spooling up or down.
When I left the dealership the Service adviser swore it was fixed this time. Wonder what she will say now....
So I'll have to call again and let them know.....Plus this time I can't hang around town. I have to get home Friday. So they best plan on me keeping the rental car for the week this time.....

NICE!

Oh and thanks for the new valve or whatever they say they installed this time....
So if they don't get it fixed the third time, am I covered under the lemon law?

My work order says they replaced the "Front H - Valve" what and where is that so I can find it. I didn't see anything that looked new and shiny anywhere in the engine compartment.

Your a/c fan or your blower?

If it's the a/c fan that would cause your a/c not to work, dad had the same issue on his 02, a new fan fixed it and we haven't had any problems since.

Well I noticed on my 11 and even my Dad's 09, the fan for the condensor doesn't always run the whole time with the a/c. It will turn on and off. I thought that was odd cause my 04, the fan would run the whole time the a/c was on but I figured since my Dad's does it too, that there was no problem.

Yes the fan on the radiator. Not the rad fan but the one inside close to the radiator. Well I stood there for quite a while waiting for the fan to click on. However as I have stated I can usually hear the fan spool down when I shut off the truck most days. Even in the winter when I use my defroster. But this fan wasn't gonna spin. In the 3rd gen you can see the fan real good as it is on it's own little coil. The 4th Gen, they have the two fans right on top of each other. You have to get up close and look in there, and not cut your eye brows off doing it... The way the mechanic wrote it down the first time was that was not much freon evacuated. So it leads me to believe it isn't a freon leak. Electrical maybe. Does the fan come on or off with line pressure? Hmmm....

Yeah, I've waited a while before mine would click in. On my 04, it would click on right away and stay on.

Very subjective, as it may have nothing to do with the air conditioning.

I suspect you have a high side transducer (aka switch) that is reading wrong or an Ambient Temp sensor issue.

Got a call today and they said it was the evaporator. They were going to replace it and I might be able to pick it up tomorrow. I told them NOPE. I said for them to keep it a few days to make sure it is actually fixed this time. Where as I have their Chrysler 200 at my house......I'll drive that for a few days and then bring it back....LOL.
I plan to bring the Service Advisor a package of Lemon Square pastries when I go back. I wonder if he'll get the joke....

How much did it cost for the replacement? Mine just went and I can smell the freon coming out of the vents for last month, didn't figure it out until it started blowing warm, put the gauges to it and was 10 on low side and 110 on high, put can back in and wholla it works again but the only place Im getting freon hits is from the vents, gonna take it in but looking to see what it costs, really don't wanna do it myself, and yes not a warranty item, ugggghhh.

I also had THREE visits to get my AC correct, it blew warm air out as well. All under warranty but what a pain. They replaced tons of stuff and even claimed there was "something funny" about the signals from the control unit whatever that meant. After the evaporator was replaced, it has been working OK.
